Growing up a baby, specially when you are a new mom is synonymous to growing a start up. Both have risks, need hard work and dedication. However, you can always fail a start up, you cannot fail a baby's health. 24/7 care is needed specially when a baby is not doing well in terms of its health. Baby's health cannot be neglected. They can suddenly go unwell in instances of time. It has been nearly ten days my infant is going through continuous diarrhea with fever. These ten days have been quite a hustle since baby is doing potty all the times in every fifteen minutes gap. Also, having occasional fever frequently.

Here are few tips which i have learnt while a baby is not well or when he is having fever with diarrhea.

1) Avoid diapers completely

Diapers are made of special fabrics, these fabrics can cause irritation to the skin. During diarrhea, baby's skin around excretory organ becomes affected and there can be rashes. To avoid rashes and irritation, use of diapers is big 'NO'.

2) Use cotton/muslin clothes to wrap the baby

More than pants, thin cotton clothes can be used to wrap baby. Cotton clothes usually do not contain chemicals like diapers, they give comfort to baby reducing any irritations. Also, it is much quicker to replace and clean when the baby has frequent potty or urination.

3) Wash dirty nappies and clothes immediately after the baby makes it dirty

Diarrhea faeces are often infected with germs. In order to avoid contamination, they should be immediately washed with Dettol or antiseptic or any sanitizes. Recommend you the baby friendly antiseptic is available.

4) Sitz bath

During sitz bath, buttocks and hips of baby is immersed inside luke warm water. This can provide warmth and wellness to baby's lower waist. Excessive diarrhea can lead to coldness to body, also leaving rashes or sometimes wounds around excretory pore. Some amount of fresh salt or betadin can be added to luke warm water. This will normalize water.

5) Check baby's temperature frequently

It's easier to know when your baby is having fever; he will get irritated or his/her body will get hotter than usual. Keep a digital thermometer near by you or inside baby kit so that you don't have to search it. Baby's temperature can always be detected by touching forehead. Ask for a doctor immediately when baby is having fever or take baby to a good hospital immediately.

The other way to take care of baby is only the extra care. You have to only focus on baby's health. Nothing comes prior to your baby's health. Not even your office works. But you can always ask for help with family members, it becomes easier to look after when family is supportive. Always consult with pediatrician doctor regarding your baby's health.

Notes:

Always consult with a doctor (family paediatric doctor) who is aware of the history of the health of your baby since the birth. Parents can easily identify a good doctor for their baby, everybody does. Your doctor's prescription is the must when it comes to medication. Sometimes parents assume that the previous medicines may work out since baby had same health issue before, this is wrong. Every time, your baby is sick, seek medical attention quickly.
